“Fright Night” at the Marina Bar Calle de las Rosas on Thurs 14th Nov was a unique charity event organized by David & Lorraine Whitney for the AFA Alzheimers Charity. With swirling smoke, Thriller dance routine, raffle, and comic entertainment together with a scrumptious two course meal the event went down well with the enthusiastic diners, most who had come dressed in horror guises.
Prizes awarded to the scariest man and women and a prize quiz and raffle ensured that the evening would be ‘frighteningly’ good. With representation from the AFA Alzheimers charity Torrevieja, the event raised 200 Euros. Thanks must go to Rita and Dave Monaghan of the Marina Bar who together with their brilliant staff served the hungry crowd with Dave stepping in as a ‘werewolf’ in a Dracula sketch to supplement actors from The Actors Studio.
This very unique event paves the way for the Marina Bar Christmas Fayre which is on Saturday 23d. Nov at 2pm. Again raising funds for the AFA Alzheimers. This charity is close to Lorraine’s heart having lost her mother to this awful disease. In closing David and Lorraine would like to thank all those people who donated prizes and helped towards the success of this event.
(The photo shows David & Lorraine, organizers with a pretty gruesome character also a photo of a ghost at the bar, where else would you expect to see a spirit? )
