There is nothing as rewarding as those words heard by a Samaritans Listener at the end of a call. Our confidential and non-judgmental emotional support service is not just for those who may be feeling suicidal. Be it addictions, bereavement, bullying, loneliness & isolation, relationship issues etc – our trained volunteers are there to listen and help them through.
Any English speaker of any age and nationality can make use of the service which started in Spain in 2005. It is anticipated that in 2019 alone, up to 3000 contacts will be made to Samaritans in Spain. We currently have vacancies at the following locations:
Samaritans in Spain Headquarters – Torrevieja Branch, Punta Marina Mall, Orihuela Costa, Samaritans in Spain Unit – Formentera del Segura
New recruits are also needed to join other Satellite Listener Teams on Costa Blanca in Urb La Marina, Ciudad Quesada, El Campello/Benidorm, and Calpe, plus the Costa Del Sol team in Sotogrande, Costa Cálida team in Mazarrón, and in the capital Madrid.
No experience is necessary as full training and mentoring will be provided. We offer the service 365 days a year and the minimum commitment is usually 1 x 4 hour shift each week.

As a registered charity, we rely on donations from the public and local businesses. These can be in the form of cash donations from independent events including our own regular local Fayres or via PayPal (www.samaritansinspain.com) or our new Teaming page (www.teaming.net/samaritansinspain) where you can sign up to donate just €1 per month.
We are also extremely grateful for items donated to our Charity Shop at Punta Marina Mall (Punta Prima, south of Torrevieja on the N332) and the Charity Unit at Formentera del Segura (within Lumsden’s Auction House and Indoor Market).
