Hillary Clinton has been urged to call for a recount of the US presidential election votes in key states in case foreign hackers were involved in altering the final outcome.
Dr Barbara Simons, an expert on electronic voting and an adviser to the US election assistance commission has said, “I’m interested in verifying the vote. We need to have post-election ballot audits.”
An 18 page document is due to be presented to congressional committee chairs and federal authorities in the coming weeks.
After leading in three midwestern states running up to the election day, Clinton finally lost by a narrow margin in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. She may also lose in Michigan where the final result has not yet been declared.
According to one of Clinton’s closest aides, Huma Abedin, “A shift of just 55,000 Trump votes to Hillary in PA, MI & WI is all that is needed to win”.
