A plane was forced to make an emergency landing on Tuesday evening on the RM-19 motorway, which links the municipalities of Murcia and San Javier.
The landing took place on the hard shoulder just after 7pm when the aircraft began to suffer from engine difficulties. It landed close to the Polaris World Urbanisation by Torre Pacheco.
The Guardia Civil were alerted to the incident by local drivers one of whom said that the aircraft seemed to make a perfect landing.
The pilot, who was heading for San Javier airport at the time, suffered no injuries and the aircraft was removed from the roadside later in the evening by a large crane.
