Customers at ‘El Bar S C’ in San Cayetano enjoy testing their brains every week at the regular Friday night quiz, and they are also keen to win a meal for two in the half-time raffle. Over the past six months in the raffle, the bar’s generous customers have raised €2,000 which the owners, Sally and Caroline, have decided should benefit the local community.
€1,000 has been presented to the village’s local primary school, CEIP San Cayetano, and the quizzers turned out in force to see the cheque presented to Director, Antonio, and Head of Studies, Pencho. Said the Director ‘We want to use the donation to create a decorative mural that serves as inspiration and motivation for our students. It is expected to be launched shortly and will be completed by the end of this year, 2024.’
The other half of the money is to go to the San Cayetano Fiesta Committee who organise three weeks of celebration in the summer, culminating with a procession up to ‘Cabezo Gordo’.
