We were absolutely devastated to these pictures of the upturned skips which have been placed outside the Park Inn in Quesada this week.
The Park Inn are avid supporters of the Elche Children’s Care Home and raise thousands of euros every year by holding charity events in the car park directly outside their bar. Their target for this year is 10,000 euros (6,000 of which they have already raised), however, they will not able to hold any more events whilst these unsightly monstrosities are in place.
As the home relies totally on donations, this money is crucial to the welfare of the children living there. Not only are the skips an eyesore but a danger and possible health hazard to pedestrians. Apparently, although the Park Inn have always placed tables and chairs outside their bar – the property company (Justo Quesada) who own the private land have now asked the bar to pay 1,000 euros per month to use this small area, which the bar cannot afford.
The Elche Children’s Care Home Charity would appeal to Justo Quesda to resolve this issue quickly and fairly so that a local business can not only continue to make a living and pay it’s staff but also to continue raising funds to support the children who live in the Elche Children’s Care Home and who rely heavily on the money raised by the ex-pat community to maintain the Home.
