A 70 year old woman and her 40 year old daughter were injured when they fell into a half built pool on Thursday after leaning on a balustrade that collapsed.
The swimming pool is under construction in their house at Calle Costa de la Luz in Quesada and as the pair were leaning over the balustrade to inspect the work it completely gave way.
The pair then fell from a height of 4.5 meters into the shell of the pool that was enmeshed in wrought iron.
The daughter was eventually able to get out of the pool and call the emergency services who attended the scene from Almoradi Park.
The mother, of Swedish nationality, was moved out of the pool by the firemen, paramedics and officers from the Policia local prior to being transferred to Torrevieja Hospital where she was treated for her injuries.
