The Orihuela Council, through a mayoral decree issued on Monday afternoon, has suspended classes in all schools and activities in sports facilities on Tuesday the 23rd May due to the possibility of bad weather. They will reopen again, if there are no incidents, on Wednesday.
The decision is based on a report from the Emergency meteorologist, in response to the notice that the Department of Emergencies has received from the Emergency Coordination Centre in the Generalitat, which establishes a pre-emergency for orange level rains and storms on the southern coastal area of the province.

For this reason, the City Council has decreed the suspension of classes and outdoor activities and the closure of schools and municipal sports and cultural facilities .
The decree has been communicated to the Local Police, Emergencies and Civil Protection, educational services, centers and the departments of Sports, Markets, Festivities and Education.
