The Elche Local Police have arrested a 25-year-old man for throwing rocks at parked vehicles and houses on calle Bigastro and the surrounding area.
Witnesses alerted the police control who sent patrols to the scene who quickly identified the suspect after a few minutes of searching, when one of the patrols surprised the young man throwing a rock at a house.
He spontaneously confessed to the police that he had thrown stones at cars and buildings because they were also throwing stones at him. The agents verified that there was no one else in the area, and that this person was saying incoherent sentences, which made it clear, according to the officers, that he was not in full use of his mental faculties.
The young man was arrested and transferred to police station. Meanwhile, another patrol proceeded to count the vehicles and houses that had suffered damage to notify their owners.
The Elche Local Police would like to remind the public of the importance of denouncing this type of vandalism, since it can put people’s safety at risk and cause significant material damage. In addition, emphasis is placed on the need to be extremely careful when driving on public roads and not cause situations that could trigger aggressive behaviour in third parties.
