National Police have arrested eight people, including a number of minors, accused of stealing e-scooters from the roadside in Benidorm.
Among those arrested are six minors. Police recovered five of the e-scooters, valued at €1,200.
Benidorm local Police lead investigations into the thefts, that included valued brands and models.
The e-scooters had been stolen while the owners were at a sports centre, having left their scooters tied to fences with security locks.
Shears were used to break the security padlocks but following evidence obtained from surveillance cameras near the sports centre, police identified and arrested the alleged criminals, including three minors.
Police recovered three scooters in the possession of the thieves, with two scooters subsequently recovered from a pawn shop in Benidorm.
The investigation was transferred to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office to proceed with charges.
