The Ministry of Public Works has said that it is seeking information from the airline Ryanair to ensure that it applies strict compliance to the rights of passengers following the cancellation of between 1,500 and 2,000 flights in the next six weeks.
The minister of Public works, Iñigo de la Serna, and has requested detailed information about its plans in the re scheduling of flights to and from Spain.
The Irish airline has recently announced the rescheduling of its operation until the end of the summer season, which will mean the cancellation of between 1,500 and 2,000 flights in the next six weeks with the company notifying all affected passengers, offering them either full reimbursement of the price of the ticket or their rebooking on a subsequent flight.
In Spain the action has affected some flights at the airports of Madrid and Barcelona, but so far no incidents have occurred.
In this situation the Ministry of Public Works has announced the opening of an information file to verify that the rights of the passengers have been fulfilled and has asked the company for detailed information on its programming plans.
