The Councillor for Urban Planning Councilor Matías Ruiz has confirmed that he expects to see a major increase in taxes received through new Constructions, Installations and Works (ICIO) during 2024, a fact that is reflected in the 2024 budgets.
The municipal purse expects to gather in the not inconsiderable sum of 8,845,389 .09 euros, an extraordinary increase in collections from the nearly four million euros that was collected during the 2022 budget.
Amongst the projects highlighted is one that is especially controversial: the 1,026,178.19 euros that the Council plans to receive this year for the construction of new homes in Cala Mosca, the last virgin kilometre of the Oriola coast.
The construction was authorised by the previous PSOE-Cs government team shortly before the last elections.
