On 23 March 2024, the Rotary Club Guardamar del Segura and the Guardamar Town Hall are holding their popular annual Classic Car Show. Taking place at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento Guardamar from 10am, visitors are invited to come and see a large number of stunning classic cars, American cars, top makes and models and motorbikes, brought by members of the Costa Blanca Porsche Club, American Cars Levante and Performance VIP Murcia.
The organizers are expecting around 200 classic cars and bikes in total which is the largest amount they’ve ever brought together From midday, there will be performances from three dance schools and the rock band Saint and Sinner will be giving a live concert. There will also be a charity raffle and a giant paella for over 600 people.
The event will raise money to buy textbooks for the IES Les Dunes high school as part of their Book Bank programme. Local businesses including Specsavers Ópticas in Torrevieja, La Zenia and Guardamar are sponsoring the event to ensure that it will raise as much money for the cause as possible. Attendees are also encouraged to support the youth of Guardamar by participating in the raffle, purchasing food and drink and enjoying the paella.
The Book Bank is a vital resource which reduces the economic burden on families with children studying at Baccalaureate level and undergoing training modules. Students can benefit from free textbooks, and the school is able reduce waste and promote sustainable practices through reusing these materials for several year groups.
