Sometimes the points are more important than how you play. It’s safe to say that today in Monóvar, that is exactly what happened.
We were certainly not at our flowing best; however, we defended superbly and having taken a 15th minute lead with a typical Anderson goal, we held out for the points.
Mention must be made of the work rate and determination of our players.
Diego run his socks off and was replaced in the second half.
Pablo in our goal was huge today and our defence was outstanding.
A special mention must go to Damian. He was pushed back to help out at the back and played most of the game as a right-back. His performance both defensively and pushing up the wing into attack was superb. Certainly, my Man of the Match, although there were a few candidates for that honour.
Despite our defensive performance, we still had various chances to increase our lead.
So, another win, our 13th of the season which puts us on 43 points, 5 clear of second placed Guardamar..
