The senior women’s teams from the Philippines, Scotland, Finland and Slovenia will compete in the fourth edition of the Costa Cálida Pinatar Cup, which for the second time will have an under-19 category.
Pinatar Arena will host the tournament, which will play its matches simultaneously on February 24 and 27 with games at 2:05 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. All matches will be open to the public and will also be televised in the participating countries.
The Philippines, Finland and Scotland are all previous competitors in this event that has established itself as a reference in women’s football. Slovenia, however, will be in San Pedro del Pinatar for the very first time with the intention of testing their squad against rivals that all sit higher in the FIFA ranking.
Finland and the Philippines will also play and additional friendly match on February 21 as an appetizer for the semifinal they will play three days later.
For the second consecutive year, there will also be a competition in the under-19 category, with the participation of the Czech Republic, Morocco, Sweden and Portugal. The matches will also be held at Pinatar Arena on February 23 and 26 using a knockout format.
To complete the week of women’s national team football, Pinatar Arena will also have the men’s under-19 teams from Denmark and the Czech Republic who will play two friendly matches.
