In the same way they facilitated the local election results, and although foreign residents can´t participate in the national elections this weekend, you will be able to follow the action as it happens, as the Government has developed a specific website and mobile application to follow the results of the elections to Cortes Generales on July 23, and which will be available from Friday.
The website https://resultados.generales23j.es , which will be available starting at 1:00 p.m., and the mobile app “23J Elecciones Generales 2023”, which can be downloaded in the Android and iOS platforms markets, will offer users information in real time about the entire process. Specifically, it will be possible to access the data on the constitution of the polling stations, the participation rates that are registered during the election day and the provisional results at the closing of the polling stations.
Be sure to check the exact name of the app, as there are a few variants, but the only official one is that created by the Government and has “Ministerio del Interior” as the developer.
Once downloaded, we suggest you click the menu, then towards the bottom of the screen you will see a cog for the configuration settings. In there, you can change the language (Idioma) to English.
The platform offers the user the possibility of carrying out their own pact simulations between the different forces that obtain representation in Congress. Based on the provisional results, both the website and the app give access to a simulator in which different formulas for the sum of blocks can be tested, which the user can save and edit to carry out as many tests as they wish.
The Table Constitution section offers graphs on the number of tables constituted and the percentage it represents over the total number of existing ones, in addition to statistics on the census. The data that will be offered will allow access to both the national total and its breakdown by autonomous communities and provinces.
The web space reserved for Participation Advances will show the progress of these statistics available at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on election day, as well as its comparison with the same time slots in the 2019 general elections. In the previous block, the data will also be available by autonomous community and province in a drop-down menu or through an interactive map of Spain that allows you to click directly on the desired autonomous community.
From 9:00 p.m., after the closure of the polling stations in the Canary Islands, the website and the mobile application will begin to disseminate the first results of the scrutiny in the different polling stations, which can be consulted in real time from the Provisional Results section that, in turn, it is deployed in Congress and the Senate. In both subsections, the chamber composition graph is shown according to the data that arrives, the list of representation by parties and the votes received by each one, both in absolute and percentage terms.
The graphs will show the distribution of the 350 deputies and the 208 senators who will be elected throughout the national territory, including the comparison with the results of the last elections of 2019. From the search engine you can also access the data of autonomous communities and provinces that the user can save in their Favourites section to check their evolution as more information becomes available.
A space included in the results section will allow the user to carry out specific queries for candidacies to find out the number of votes by party or group, the representatives obtained in each case and the percentage of votes obtained out of the total number cast.
The definitive participation rate at the closing of the polling stations will be another of the items that includes both the website and the app, with the abstention data and the numbers of votes cast, valid, blank and invalid in each province and autonomous community. as well as its comparison with the 2019 general elections.
Live press conferences
The usual appearances on election day can be followed via streaming through the mobile application and the electoral results website. On Sunday, July 23, the first intervention will be at 10:30 a.m. to report the start of electoral day and the constitution of polling stations; at 2:30 p.m. the first preview of participation will be offered; and the second, at 6:30 p.m.
At around 10:30 p.m., the appearance of the Minister of Territorial Policy and Government Spokesperson, Isabel Rodríguez, and the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, will be broadcast on streaming to offer the provisional results.
