Rojales Council has put out to tender the works for the redevelopment of Calle Baja and its accesses, in Ciudad Quesada, for an amount of 604,478.42 euro. It is one of the first streets to be urbanised in the residential area of the town, where no comprehensive action has been taken for forty years, which has given rise to showing an image very deteriorated and full of patches due to the different actions that have been carried out during that time to fix damage.
The specifications state that it is a road of the secondary network that was part of the primitive Ciudad Quesada Partial Plan, with a length of 358 linear metres and an approximate width of 12 metres whose urbanisation dates from the early 80s. At the end of the 1990s, it was included in a resurfacing plan along with more roads in the urbanisation.
Thus, it is a comprehensive reform that includes the restoration of road paving and signage, the restoration of pavements, as well as the renovation of the drinking water and sewerage network, including household connections. In addition, the telephone network will be buried and the public lighting network, columns and luminaires will be restored.
The scope of the redevelopment works contemplated in the Project basically covers the entire surface of the current calle Baja in Ciudad Quesada as well as the entire first section of the road called Avenida de las Naciones adjacent to the aforementioned street and between the Glorieta del Anchor and the emblematic access portico to Ciudad Quesada.
The deadline for submitting bids closed this week, with an execution period of six months once the award is resolved, so they are expected to be ready during the first quarter of 2024. This will of course mean months of disruption, but with a positive outcome.
