After the emotions experienced last Sunday in winning the Wimbledon Men’s Final, , Carlos Alcaraz is back in his home village of El Palmar (Murcia).
The world No. 1 came home on Monday night with the cup well-guarded, where he was welcomed by many of his neighbours. The Murcian will now enjoy a short holiday, during which time he will be honoured by his friends and colleagues and the members of the Tennis Club in which his talents were developed and which he visits whenever he can.
Alcaraz has withdrawn from the ATP 500 in Hamburg, in Germany, and the ATP 250 in Umag, in Croatia, tournaments in which he was a finalist last year. His return to competition, on hard court, will be in Toronto, a championship that will be held from August 7 to 13.
He will then travel to the USA for the Cincinnati Masters, also called the Western & Southern Open, which is played right before the start of the US Open, where he will hope to do rather better than last year when he was a quarterfinalist, falling to the British player Cameron Norrie.
