The Torrevieja coast saw its seventh seismic movement of 2023 at noon on Sunday, just 8 kilometres east of the city. The 1.5-magnitude tremor occurred in the sea, four kilometres deep, according to the National Geographic Institute (NGI).
The earthquake occurred at 12:17 pm off the coast of Torrevieja, with the epicentre located 8 kilometres from the coast and 4 kilometres deep.
Forty in the province
This earthquake, greater than 1.5 degrees, is the 40th registered this year in the province of Alicante and the seventh in this area off the coast of the city of Torrevieja.
The NGI confirmed that notifications have been received that the tremor has been felt by many residents of Torrevieja.
