The beach of El Portús in Cartagena will be the scene of a jolly day out on June 16 to 18, as members of the Cultural Association Los Modernistas de Cartagena de Levante convenes, with the collaboration of the Cartagena City Council, groups from other provinces and people from the region to participate in bathing in period clothing, and you too are invited.
On Friday the 16th there will be a Havana concert by the SAM Santa Cecilia de Pozo Estrecho next to El Portús beach. The day will begin at 8 in the evening with a proclamation of the modernist baths prior to the concert.
On Saturday the 17th will be the first dip starting at 11 in the morning. At noon there will be games in the sand. There will be a contest to reward the best swimsuits. The jury will be made up of members of the El Portús neighbourhood association. There will also be grilled nuggets and drinks at popular prices for vintage bathers. In the afternoon, at 6:00 p.m., Sorolla’s Walks along the seashore will be staged, also rewarding the best clothing.
