Following her criticism of the “scandals that continue to arise from leaders of the Orihuela PP, especially from its candidate,” at a party gathering last week, Carolina Gracia, the socialist candidate and mayoress of Orihuela, outlined some of her proposals for the economic boost of the municipality, based on more industrial land, the improvement in training and the creation of areas for entrepreneurs and the self-employed.
She opened with the promise of a new business park in Orihuela, next to the A7 which will cover an area of around one million square metres, “with all possible immediacy.” If we want Orihuela to be unstoppable, we have to be unstoppable in our decisions. And if we say it, we do it”, she said.
“For many years, projects have been abandoned because nobody took the first step. It happened previously with the Sports City, but now we have now contracted EVREN to draft the Floodability Study for this special Plan, which includes the hydrological and hydraulic study, so now, the government that I lead will do the same with the industrial land”.
Gracia, has also made it a priority to improve the Puente Alto industrial estate “working toward the initiatives which have been demanded by the Association of Entrepreneurs of the Puente Alto Industrial Estate, by carrying out works to improve its condition and make it more competitive”.
Another of the proposals outlined by Gracia in her speech is the start-up of a Municipal Training Centre for Employment “a nerve centre of training for employment in Vega Baja”.
She also outlined the importance of public and private collaboration for the creation of two Co-Working Centres, one in the city and the other on the Coast. With a versatile format for the development of new businesses, with a hotel for business associations, which will become a breeding place for technological micro-enterprises and platforms.
