The Los Verdes green party in Torrevieja has filed a motion of disapproval to the current Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, for the insults directed at the former Mayor of the town, Jose Manuel Dolón.
On April 27, one of the most shameful interventions by the current mayor Eduardo Dolón took place in plenary session, they say, in which Eduardo Dolón “personally attacked, displaying his stratospheric arrogance and rudeness, towards the former mayor of the progressive coalition, Mr. José Manuel Dolón”, stating that, “the mayor at the time, the one who sat here, the one who, unfortunately, for my family, it cannot bear the name and my last name as it deserves in this city…” .
“In case we did not have to put up with enough disrespect, constant displays of disdain for the opposition and an inadmissible superiority complex in the mayor of a municipality, Eduardo Dolón doubles the bet with a hate speech that practically left the entire opposition speechless,” said the spokesperson for Los Verdes, Israel Muñoz.
“In the face of such an attack, which has nothing to do with politics, a petty and personal attack on someone who, at least, deserves respect for having had the honour of being mayor of this city, with an impeccable career marked by the fight against the corruption of the Partido Popular, we are forced to demand an immediate rectification of these words. Let’s not forget that, precisely, the position of the current mayor should serve to show himself as an example and show respect, both to the people who have been part of this corporation in the past, as well as to those who do so currently and to those who will come.” the spokesperson continued.
For this reason, from Los Verdes, calling for sanity and good manners in politics, we urge the plenary session that Eduardo Dolón mayor of Torrevieja retract the offensive words addressed to Mr. José Manuel Dolón ex-mayor of Torrevieja and the disapproval of Mr. Mayor for his improper attitude and conduct, maintained during these four years, with events as serious as the aforementioned.
The Los Verdes concluded by thanking the many associations and groups who have spoken to them condemning the words and in support of a respectful attitude.
