The Civil Guard is looking for two people in Vega Baja who have robbed a bank branch early in this Tuesday morning and have fled with a haul of only 500 euros after threatening the employees with a kitchen knife.
The robbery took place shortly after half past eight in the morning at a Banco Sabadell branch located on la calle Orihuela in Torrevieja.
The emergency exchange 112 received a notice of the robbery and immediately despatched agents from the Torrevieja Civil Guard.
According to information provided by the Civil Guard, the perpetrators of the robbery were two men. One of them entered the branch wearing a hoodie and armed with a kitchen knife where he threatened the office staff, while the other remained watching from the door.
The assailants escaped with 500 euros in cash and have fled on foot.
The Civil Guard has provided descriptions of the robbers to the service patrols but so far the efforts to locate the suspects have been unsuccessful.
