The  Civil Guard  is investigating  the circumstances of the death of a woman whose remains have been found inside a suitcase in the Costa del Sol municipality of Benahavís. La Opinión has reported that the skeletal remains were found by a gardener on Monday afternoon in the vicinity of la urbanización The Crest La Quinta.

According to sources, the man first found the skull, then he stumbled across a number of other bones and what could be the remains of the victim’s clothing.

The suitcase is being analysed by the investigators, as it appears to have been used to hide and move the body. The sources have added that inside it there were also discs from a radial saw.

This morning the Guardia Civil carried out a number of raids in the area with using dozens of agents and dogs that are specialised in the search for human remains, in case there were more elements that could contribute to the investigation.

The body, seemingly that of a woman, is still unidentified and could have  died more than a decade ago.
