An eagle owl was saved by the Civil Guard in Villajoyosa after getting entangled in a barbed wire fence.
Due to the rescue the owl avoided probable certain death by starvation, as it could not detach itself.
The injured bird was transferred to the Wild Fauna Recovery Centre, where pertinent veterinary treatments were carried out.
The eagle owl will remain in the recovery centre and thereafter released into the natural environment.
