A total of 11,848 commercial companies were incorporated in 2021 in the Valencian Community (the fourth autonomy with the most constitutions), 7.95% more than in 2019, before the pandemic, and 1,936 were dissolved, according to data published this Friday by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
Fourteen of the 17 autonomous communities, all except Castilla y León, La Rioja and Aragón, in addition to Melilla and Ceuta, created more companies throughout 2021 than in 2019, before the pandemic, with greater increases in Cantabria, the Balearic Islands, Andalusia , Murcia and Navarre.
The INE report also reflects how the number of dissolved companies increased in 12 communities, all except Castilla-La Mancha, Navarra, Aragón, Murcia and the Balearic Islands, in addition to Melilla, while it increased more in La Rioja, Extremadura and Asturias.
As for the established commercial companies, the pre-covid data was exceeded in 2021 by 25.08% in Cantabria, 15.18% in the Balearic Islands, 12.44% in Andalusia, 11.77% in Murcia, and also grew above the average (7.65%) in Asturias (9.19%), Madrid (8.75%) and the Valencian Community (7.95%).
Compared to 2020, in all territories, except Melilla (-12.50%), more companies were created, with greater force in Navarra (38.55%), Cantabria (35.64%), Balearic Islands (34.90%) , Madrid (31.87%) and Castilla-La Mancha (31.68%), in addition to Ceuta (38.60%), and to a lesser extent in Extremadura (16.77%) and Murcia (19.58%) .
During 2021, more companies were incorporated in Madrid (23,691, close to a quarter of the total), Catalonia (19,186), Andalusia (17,496) and the Valencian Community (11,848).
On the opposite side, more companies were also dissolved in Madrid (7,373, approximately a third of those that were formed), Andalusia (3,586), the Valencian Community (1,936), Catalonia (1,842), Galicia (1,608) and the Basque Country (1,496).
In all regions, more companies were closed than in 2020, especially in Asturias (51.86%), La Rioja (43.18%), Murcia (34.31%) and Castilla-La Mancha (34.21%), while compared to the last year without covid, five autonomous regions reduced the number of dissolutions: Castilla-La Mancha (-56.03%), Navarra (-34.52%), Aragón (-7.93%), Murcia (-5.84%) and the Balearic Islands (-1.56%).
