The Valencian Community will not withdraw the Covid Passport requirement in restaurants, entertainment venues, gyms or cinemas for the time being.
This was stated on Thursday by the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, within the framework of Fitur, before the decisions of other autonomies such as Cantabria to end the restriction after more than a month of validity.
In the Valencian Community, this restriction is in force for the moment until 31 January. “It has had a positive effect on the pandemic and economic activity,” Puig stressed. In this sense, pointing out the “constancy and awareness” among the population that the pandemic “is among us”, as well as the promotion of vaccinations.
He has also pointed out the increase in security in the premises and the economic benefits that it has brought. “At every moment we have to make decisions, now we will start a new phase but we still have a high number of infections despite stabilisation, but we are far from normal,” he assured.
