Orihuela’s Department of Employment, has hired 55 unemployed people from the municipality in recent days, to participate in two employment programs.
The two programs, ECOVID and EMPUJU, are co-financed by the European Union through the operational program of the European Social Fund 2014-20 of the Valencian Community.
The cost of 12 month contracts totals 1,529,000 euros, of which the subsidies obtained are 678,000 from the EMPUJU Program and 342,000 from the ECOVID, plus 509,000 euros of municipal contribution from the Department of Employment.
By programs, 36 people under 30 years of age have been selected through EMPUJU and 19 people over 30 through ECOVID.
They include concierge, cleaner, gardening, painting, masonry and forestry laborers, geographers, trade technicians, tourism staff and will be assigned to different departments and areas of the Council, based on their professional qualifications.
