Despite favourable conditions, El Plantio 2’s Singles Joker competition failed to produce scoring that matched the weather. Usually, the winner manages to achieve a score over 40 points with two nominated ‘Joker’ holes scoring double points.
Instead six of the nine players returned totals between 35 and 37 points. When the cards were returned, the ‘winner’, had 37 points.
However, one card was noticed to be incorrectly added up both by the player and the marker, who is also a Mathematics Teacher in the U.K. The corrected card scored 37 points and won on count back.

Third Place, Handicap 21, Kenneth O’Brien – 36 Points C/B.
Second place, Handicap 10, Graham Blakeway – 37 points.
First place, Handicap 11, Paddy O’Brien – 37 points C/B.
If anyone would like to join our Society, we play at El Plantio Golf Club every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. We use both courses – the Par 3 nine hole course and the main 18 hole course, so we cater for all abilities.
