More tropical nights and yet another heat wave in the region with the arrival of the third stream of Saharan air to the province from Thursday (today) afternoon, will cause a new thermal rise throughout the province, more marked in the interior where the maximum temperatures could reach 38 degrees, in municipalities such as Orihuela and Alcoy.
On the coast the thermometers will rise slightly less, with highs around 30/31 degrees but with a high humidity index, which will trigger the heat and the sensation of heat at night, according to the forecasts of the State Meteorological Agency and the Laboratory of Climatology of the University of Alicante.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition has issued warnings of an increased risk of forest fires. A special monitoring service has been established in the northern area of the province of Castellón, in the Baix Maestrat and Els Ports regions, where there has been a lack of rainfall so far in the hydrological year, which means there is absolutely no moisture in the soil and in forest vegetation meaning a far greater risk of fires.
The Ministry asks for extreme caution, especially in areas with higher risk of ignition (wheat fields with harvesters, agricultural-urban-forest, etc.), which it has also communicated to the municipalities.
The intense heat will be today, tomorrow and Saturday, while on Sunday we can expect more Saharan rain.
The public is asked that in the event of detecting a forest fire they should immediately call the 112 emergency telephone number.
