Atom Hoteles SOCIMI (Spanish REIT) will invest more than 35 million euros in improvements to its hotels in 2019.
In the SOCIMI’s process of asset repositioning and portfolio optimisation, strategic projects valued at more than 35 million euros are being carried out in the hotels Sol La Palma, Sol Jandiamar, Fergus Club Europa, Melia Valencia, and Alegria Costa Ballena. With these investments, the CapEx plan of the entire portfolio, which currently consists of 22 hotels and 5535 rooms will come to completion.
ATOM Hoteles SOCIMI has invested up to 3 million euros in the development of a new waterpark at its Alegria Costa Ballena hotel in the prime location in Cadiz. An additional 1 million euros will be put in by the operator Alegria to improve the hotel facilities in the Health & Wellness and Rooftop areas.
Hotel guests will be granted preferential use of the new waterpark. However, the general public may also access it through an outdoor entrance.
The waterpark will have an area of more than 7000m2, where guests can enjoy the two swimming pools, seven slides of up to nine metres high, a new restaurants area, a new rest area for persons with reduced mobility, and a new parking zone attached to the waterpark.
Another novelty for next season will be the opening of a Health & Wellness area with massage services, sauna, gym, and a heated pool that will prolong the swimming season, as well as a rooftop with 360-degree views of the entire coast.
Alegria Costa Ballena is a four-star family hotel that boasts with 200 rooms. It opened its doors in the summer of 2017 after a remodelling investment in excess of 10 million euros, which in conjunction with the management by Alegría Hoteles has secured them the first position in online reputation and guest ratings for this destination.
Atom Hoteles was incorporated in January 2018 by Bankinter and Global Myner Advisors Hotels Capital Invest (GMA HCI) and began trading on the Alternative Stock Market (MAB) on November 27, 2018.
