La Serena Golf, Los Alcazares, hosted a Pro-Am competition on Saturday 29 June 2019. There was a full field of teams (eighteen in total) made up from 4 amateurs + 1 Professional, playing a ‘scramble’ format. Teams travelled from many areas of Spain to take part in the event. As the sun began to heat up, the shotgun start was underway at 8.30 am and the stage was set for a great day of golf.
A team from the Club25Serena Golf Society took part in the event. The Society Captain (Alan Boggess), Alan Ross, Derek Burgess and Ken Sharp joined the Professional – Paul Stokes – to make up the Club25Serena team. Starting off on the 10th tee, the Club25Serena team went on complete the round shooting 7 birdies and 11 pars – a bogey free round!! On the hottest day of the year so far, the Club25Serena team played a fantastic round with great team spirit, finishing in 10th position with a net score of -15.08 which was only 4 shots behind the winners of the event.
La Serena Golf did a great job organising the event which was matched by the fantastic achievement of Team Club25Serena.
