Mojácar recently held the first plenary session of the new term of office, in which the roles of the Councillors were approved for the next four years.
The Governing Board will be composed of the Mayor, Rosa María Cano, Emmanuel Agüero, María Luisa Pérez, Ana García Fernández and Francisco García Cerdá. Their assigned tasks include the town´s financial management in accordance with the approved budget, as well as the fulfilment of agreements made by the Council.
Emmanuel Agüero Leclerc has been appointed as First Deputy Mayor with María Luisa Pérez now Second Deputy Mayor. The Councillors and their roles are as follows; Francisco García Cerdá (Finance and Cadastral as well as Assistant to the Mayor’s Office), Ana García Fernández (Sports, Health, Senior Citizens, Education, Parks and Civil Protection) Agustín Montoya Pérez, (Municipal Works, Gardens, Services and the Cemetery), María Luisa Pérez, (Citizen Security and Commitment to Citizens) Raquel Belmonte (Culture, Celebrations, Young Citizens and Social Services), Emmanuel Agüero Leclerc
(Beaches, Tourism, Environment and Cultural Heritage) and finally Lucas John Mayo (Councillor for Foreigners).
Ordinary plenary sessions are held every two months on the last Thursday of the month unless it is a public holiday when they are automatically moved to the next working day.
The Mayor, Rosa María Cano is also President of the Permanent Committee along with two Councillors from both the Socialist Party and the Popular Party.
Once all points on the agenda were approved and the responsibilities formed in all Council working areas, the Mayor closed this first session with all the new municipal Councillors following the May elections.
