CD Almoradi first team head coach Roberto Cases is to meet the Preferential G IV club President to discuss his future.
“I will be sitting down with the President of the club to talk about my future – but I want to stay,” Roberto exclusively told me.
Former Orihuela, CD Montesinos, and UD Horadada coach Cases arrived at CD Almoradi in February 2018.
“For now I will rest and then we will see if the club and I reach an agreement – we all believe that it is best to continue,” said Roberto.
Cases left CD Montesinos ahead of the 2016-17 season, when replaced by coach Camacho – at the time the third coach in three seasons – at the Los Montesinos, Alicante based club.
Cases left CD Montesinos in a move to UD Horadada, in what was deemed as a shock exit, having replaced long serving coach Juanpe, who was not given a new contract, after seven years at the club.
“I am very sorry about the decline of CD Montesinos,” said Roberto.
“I have a relationship with CD Montesinos players and some managers. I hope that they will soon return to the 1st Regional,” added Roberto.
SPANISH police have made several arrests following a complaint from La Liga about a game in May 2018 – possibly fixed by an organised criminal group.
“La Liga continues to fight to eradicate any scourge against fair play in Spanish football,” said a La Liga spokesperson.
La Liga current and former players, along with club officials, from Spain’s top two divisions have reportedly been detained.
The league said during the 2018-19 season it informed police of eight suspected cases of acts related to match-fixing – and another 18 cases of players having placed bets – on the outcomes of matches.
“We want to thank the National Police for the extraordinary work done to dismantle what appears to be an organised criminal group dedicated to obtaining economic benefits through the predetermination of football matches,” added a La Liga spokesperson.
