On Tuesday, the IMF Cinema in Torrevieja will be screening a very special performance, Romeo and Juliet – Live From The Royal Opera House In London.
Shakespeare’s everlasting love story is known throughout the world. Since its premiere in 1965 with The Royal Ballet, Romeo and Juliet by Kenneth MacMillan has become a modern classical ballet.
The choreography captures the emotions of the young couple when they fall in love, despite the barriers that finally trigger the tragic end of the story.
Each replenishment provides opportunities for new dancers to interpret the ill-fated lovers.
The whole company brings the colour and action of the Renaissance Verona, where a busy market leads too quickly in a fight with swords and a family dispute gives way to a tragedy for both the mountains and the capulets.
With music by SERGUÉI PROKÓFIEV and choreography by KENNETH MACMILLAN, this unique experience in the plush cinema is one for all the family to enjoy, although it is over 3 hours long, so might not be suitable for the littlest ones.
The show starts at 20:15 and tickets are available from the cinema.
