CD Montesinos talisman midfielder Maccan is predicting that the Los Montesinos, Alicante based club will bounce back from relegation after dropping out of the Valencia 1st Regional G8 in the 2018-19 season.
“I am hoping that the club can return to the Valencia 1st Regional Group 8 division at the first attempt,” Maccan exclusively told me.
CD Montesinos suffered relegation in May – after a woeful season – that put an end to two seasons in the higher echelons of regional football.
Relegation came as a huge shock to both the club and their loyal band of supporters, who had seen further progress on the cards, after winning promotion to the 1st Regional.
A summer of change is afoot at the club – with a new club President incoming in replacing outgoing Felipe Parades.
Felipe, at the helm of the Vega Baja outfit for four years, said: “My term has come to an end and a new President and committee will soon be in place.”
Felipe added: “Hopefully the club can move forward, after a season that went terribly wrong, for a number of reasons.
“It was a high, in gaining promotion two years ago, and I have faith that the club have the capacity to bounce back.”
Felipe has aired his views on attracting players to the club – with bigger financially backed clubs proving difficult to compete with.
And Maccan believes new signings are a must in the summer – if the club’s ambitions are to bear fruit.
“During the summer hopefully we can sign six or seven new players – because I think that we need them,” said Maccan.
“With the new President I think we will make the signings – and hopefully gain promotion once again,” said Maccan.
