Until Saturday, 27 April, Torrevieja will be hosting its first ever “Urban Beauty Contest”.

The artists ‘Jacobo Palos Way’, ‘Chakan’, ‘M33’, ‘Kike’, ‘Eneko’, ‘Max501’, ‘Nego’ and ‘Dheser’, will participate in the contest by showing their works of urban art in a total of 10 facades

A total of 13 facades entered the contest, so 3 have been eliminated.

All work must be completed by noon on Saturday when the jury will deliberate and determine the winners, announcing their decision during a workshop arranged by the University Headquarters of the UA in Torrevieja for the same day, from 10 am to 1 pm.

The jury is made up of professors from the municipal school of painting, local painters, specialists from the University of Alicante and technicians from the Youth Council. The artistic quality and the originality reflected in the work will be valued mainly.

The councillor for youth, Víctor Ferrández, explained how prizes of 1000 euro for first place, a second of 600 euro and a third of 400 euro, are all up for grabs by the remaining competitors. The workshop has been arranged by the Department of Youth together with the Headquarters of the University of Alicante in Torrevieja on Saturday to introduce urban art to young people aged between 12 and 17, and will take place on Paseo Juan Aparicio, in front of the CIAJ, from 10:00 a.m. until 13:00.
