Torrevieja’s Councilor for Emergencies, Javier Manzanares, announced this morning that in view of the forecast of continuing heavy rains and storms by the State Meteorological Agency, from 18:00 hours, Civil Protection will open a reporting and monitoring station for as long as the adverse weather conditions continue. This checkpoint will be coordinated with Local Police and the Fire Brigade.
Manzanares explained that “we have been told by the Emergency Coordination Centre of the Generalitat Valenciana, that the situation could become much worse during the afternoon and evening today, so we must be prepared.”
The councillor added that “by opening this emergency centre, we will be prepared for a situation of instability and, in this way, we should be able to act as quickly and immediately as possible if necessary.”
