The great outdoors is a fantastic and rewarding time that helps us feel better and become more well rounded human beings. Having a significant other is also a rewarding experience that helps complete our overall go at this dance we call life, so why not bring the two together? As well as the many ‘on land’ opportunities there are numerous water sports such as kayaking for beginners that can provide a great way to spend quality time with friends and family while exploring nature from a new point of view.
There’s something to be said about getting out of the house and actually enjoying the beauty of the natural world with your dearly beloved. We spend a lot of time stuck in the artificial environment we’ve created for ourselves and our entire society and it’s easy at times to feel lost in this digital and concrete jungle we’ve created for ourselves.
Not only that, it is expensive to do a lot of things, but enjoying the great outdoors is almost always low cost. All it takes is time and your special someone, and I guarantee you’ll be able to find something to get up to.
Go for a walk
A nature walk is perhaps the most classic and timeless of all outdoor couple activities. You get some quality aerobic exercise and get to slowly take in nature bit by bit. Nature walks are also highly conducive to deep, meaningful conversations that are hard to get to when you’re stuck inside the house constrained by the responsibilities of domestic life. Unplug from everything and go for a walk together, it has an almost inconceivable amount of benefits.
Kayaking
The water is another great place for couples to spend some time outdoors together. A kayak is a relatively inexpensive piece of equipment that’s light and easy to transport to a lake close by. There are even tandem kayaks available so both of you can ride in the same one at the same time.
Some of the most worthwhile tandem kayaks can be found at

Stargaze
Now for this one to work you’re going to have to find somewhere you can both go late at night that has as little light pollution as possible. Whether this means you end up camping overnight together or taking a midnight drive to a secluded spot far from house & street lights, the goal is for there to be as little artificial light as possible.
Once you’re there at night, you can lay down together and look at the stars and gaze into the infinity of space together. There’s something extremely compelling about space, and I’d even go as far as to say that space can provoke some of the most interesting conversations two human beings can have.
It really shows us how small we are in the grand scheme of things, and tends to bring two people together as they share their deepest thoughts with another under a blanket of stars.
There are thousands of outdoor activities you can engage in with your partner, and the great thing is they’re all extremely rewarding and will make for some quality memories to last a lifetime. There’s an exciting world out there, why not go experience it together?
Thanks for sharing kayaking can be a great activity for couples. Time on the water is peaceful and relaxing, and you can have some great stories of interesting things that happened on a trip.
