Daya Nueva 3 v. Algorfa 6
It was a dream start by Daya when from their first attack the ball was in the Algorfa net but it looked suspiciously like an arm from Ivan had helped the ball on its way !! This stunned the visitors into action and they produced a good move finishing with a great cross that was eluded by attackers and defenders alike.
On ten minutes it was 1-1 when very sloppy defending left Jaime in goal stranded as the shot,flew past him. The visitors began to pile on the pressure and Daya’s defence began to creak again.
With twenty minutes gone the home side were definitely second best and needed to do something about it pretty quickly. Help arrived on twenty three minutes when Daya were awarded a cast iron penalty that Captain Rocamora duly despatched with ease. The scoreline certainly flattered Daya but Algorfa were right back in it just five minutes later when a penalty of their own leveled the scores at two a piece. It was 3-2 to the visitors on thirty three minutes as Daya’s defence again failed in their duties and a great lob caught Jaime well out of his goal as the ball flew over him into the empty net.
On the stroke of half time Jaime went some way to redeeming himself with a fantastic diving finger tip save from a vicious Algorfa free kick. So 3-2 to the visitors at the break and Daya certainly had it all to do in the second period. It was almost another dream start by Daya as the second half got underway when Marcos had a great chance well saved !
The visitors were well in control as the clock ticked on and Jaime was almost caught out yet again by a high ball from distance. The visitors keeper made a great stop as Daya produced a good move on sixty three minutes. Just two minutes later the home side’s defence melted like chocolate to give their opponents the easiest of chances to make it 4-2 and probably put the game to bed.
Algorfa had a man dismissed on sixty eight minutes but went 5-2 up just minutes later. Number six arrived on seventy eight minutes with Daya now well and truly beaten by the ten men of Algorfa. Daya could not even put away the easiest of chances from a Norberto free kick.
With the final kick of the game Daya managed to score a third goal to make the result look more respectable. Even this goal had a large slice of luck about it as the shot hit the woodwork and came back out only to hit the keeper and go in for Daya’s third goal ! So final score 6-3 Algorfa with Daya definitely not at the races today.
