Gran Alacant 2 Rojales 2
Much better performance than the last time we played Rojales (lost 8-3). 2-0 up going into the last quarter, with both goals scored by Dave before half time, should have been enough, but we wilted and succumbed to an unstoppable strike and a penalty after Johan performed a goal line block.
Ideally we should have sown the game up in the third quarter when we had them under a lot of pressure but just could not find the net. In effect their goalkeeper was the man of the match as he put in a sterling performance including saving an early penalty after a goal line hand ball, for which the player was ‘sinbinned’
Finally a word about a very good referee who hails from Alicante and we shall be using in future. Nobody got away with any contact and he was very quick to blow up for running. Only problem he was going with English rules and we prefer Scottish rules!
Next match up at Home Pereira is SAN Fulgencio on the 16th April.
We have also agreed at short notice to put a team in the Playa Flamenca 10 team annual tournament this Friday but will be calling on a couple of guests to help us out in a very competitive tournament.
