Leader racing columnist Andrew Atkinson hit the bookies for six on Saturday afternoon with a 853-1 six horse winning accumulator!
Kupatana (2-1), Gala Ball (13-8), Alizee De Janeiro (4-1), Sundiata (9-4), Get In The Queue (1-3) and Lillington (4-1) were Leader winning selections.
Leader each way tips also faired well with Sauchiehall Street (13-2) backed down from 8-1, and Champagne City (11-2) placed.
Selection Joe Farrell, conceding 1st 6lb to winner Chic Name, ran second at 12-1.
Selections Subliminal and Unioniste were both unlucky when losing out in photo finishes, beaten a neck and a head, in their respective races.
Jockey Noel Fehily, 43, ended his career with a win on Get In The Queue at Newbury.
“It’s fantastic to sign off with a winner,” said Fehily, successful on the Henry Fry trained winner.
“It’s a very special day with all the family being here, including my wife and kids,” said Fehily.
“I’m delighted for Noel – he’s been a brilliant jockey – a fairytale ending”, said Fry.
Former champion NH jockey, legend Jonjo O’Neill, said: “Noel’s a very nice man – straight to the point.
“A good example in life. If people take that line things won’t go wrong.”
O’Neill, who rode over 900 career winners, including The Cheltenham Gold Cup on Dawn Run, said: “Racing in the 21st century is a whole new game.
“In my era it was different to now. But the game has improved.”
At Kempton’s evening meeting The Leader hit a ‘Magnificent 7’ winners tally – not for the first time – when Richard Hannon trained Star Of War won at 8-11, bringing the accumulated odds of 1,473-1.
Nooshin was beaten a head in a photo finish – the third photo finish to go against Leader punters – with Treacherous running a creditable second at 3-1. Derry Boy was a non runner.
