A children’s game ended on Sunday afternoon with macabre find when they came across the body of a man in the basement of the abandoned Lagomar Hotel building in La Manga del Mar Menor,
According to a team of officers from San Javier’s Local Police force who were first to attend the scene the victim had suffered a heavy blow to the head. The body was transferred to the Institute of Legal Medicine for an autopsy to help determine the circumstances of the death.
The Local Police notified the Guardia Civil who have now taken precedence over the case. A spokesman said the initial hypothesis is that the man could have died as a result of an accidental fall after hitting his head.
