CD Murada closed the gap on Racing San Miguel to four points after a 2-0 away win against the leaders in the Valencia 1st Regional Group 8.
San Miguel will be hoping to bounce back at the weekend when they travel to Callosa Deportivo B in a bid to hold on to their dreams of being Champions come May.
“Congratulations go to CD Murada in their victory, but we now look ahead to the next game against Callosa – we will fight all the way,” said a San Miguel spokesman.
The win sees CD Murada go into second place ahead of AC Torrellano (40 points), with Santa Pola CF and Hondon Nieves in the chasing promotion race, both on 39 points.
CF Rafal, who meet Murada this weekend, shared the points in a six goal thriller in a 3-3 draw against Monforte on Sunday.
Dolores and Monovar drew 1-1, with Atletico Catral and Torrellano also netting three goals each in a six goals encounter.
Monforte CF host 10th place CD Montesinos on Sunday; with 14th placed Sporting San Fulgencio hosting 13th placed Atletico Catral.
