The Leader racing correspondent Andrew Atkinson had the bookies running for cover on Saturday with a plethora of winning and each way tips coming up trumps!
At Cheltenham Kildisart (1.15) gained a 2 length win in the Time form Novice Handicap Chase over 2 miles 4 furlongs, returning at odds of 9-2.
Birchdale (3.00) gained an emphatic 10 length win, the Nicky Henderson trained horse successful in the Bally more Novices Hurdle over 2 miles 4 furlongs, ridden by Barry Geraghty, returning at 2-1.
“I was happy enough, as he is very inexperienced. I had to work hard and will benefit from today,” said Geraghty.
At Doncaster the Ian Williams trained Always Resolute (12.55) ridden by Edward Austin gained a 1 1/4 length victory, returning at 9-4.
Dynamite Dollar (1.30) also obliged at 1-4 at the Yorkshire track. And Leader tip Lady Buttons (2.40) was successful, the Philip Kirby trained horse, ridden by Thomas Dowson, returning at evens.
“She’s getting better and we now head for the Cheltenham Festival in March,” said Kirby.
Each way tip Monbeg River (3.15) ran second at 25-1 finishing behind Go Conquer.
Joe Fanning rode Moongazer (1.55) to victory, returning at 5-4 at Lingfield. Pushkin Museum (2.30) was beaten a neck by Aguerooo.
And The Leader’s each way tips at Uttoxeter, Collodi (1.05) ran third at 14-1, with Little Rory Mac (1.40) finished third, returning at 25-1.
Ballyandy (2.50) gained a 4 1/2 length win, the Nigel Twiston-Davies trained horse, ridden by Sam Twiston-Davies, returning at 3-1.
At Cheltenham Janika (1.50) was beaten a head in a photo finish in a thrilling race, thwarted by winner Siru Du Lac.
