Champ, ridden by Barry Geraghty and trained by Nicky Henderson, gained victory at Newbury (3.00) to give The Leader racing tipster Andrew Atkinson his SIXTH winning selection on Saturday!
“He has enough pace, speed, and stays well,” said triumphant jockey Geraghty.
“I suppose he has the lot, hasn’t he? It was a smart race and got the job done – you have got to be impressed,” said Geraghty, after his success in the Betway Novice Hurdle over 2 miles and four furlongs.
Champagne at the double as Leader tipster hits the bookies!
Champagne Platinum and Champagne Mondays both obliged for The Leader tipster Andrew Atkinson on Saturday – a duo in a bagful of winners for punters.
The Costa Blanca punters’ friend Atkinson tipped headline selections Champagne Platinum which obliged at even money at Newbury, followed up by Champagne Mondays, which won at 5-1 at Southwell.
Whenapoet (15-8); Hold The Note (3-1) and Lady Buttons (evens) were other winning selections that had the bookies running scared! – giving a nap hand if tips.
Lady Buttons – The Leader’s fourth winning tip – gained a 5 length win in the Yorkshire Silver Vase (2.05) Doncaster at even money, having been back heavily by punters.
Jockey Adam Nichol took Lady Buttons to her third win of the season.
Leader punters were unlucky when selection Casterbridge (1.45) lost out in a three way photo finish at Southwell.
Eric Alston trained Casterbridge (10-1) was beaten a neck and a head behind Classic Pursuit and Samovar.
