On Saturday 15th December, 27 members of Mojácar’s Anglican Church led a morning Christmas Carol singalong at the town’s Parque Comercial shopping centre.
The beautiful warm, sunny weather drew in a large crowd for the event, with all seats and tables taken in the packed square. The members handed out song sheets for everyone to join in the fun and the singing went on for nearly an hour, with time for some special requests from the audience, including ‘Silent Night’ ‘Good King Wenceslas’ and ‘We Three Kings’ before rounding off with the very festive ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’ and ‘Jingle Bells’.
The Vicar, Vincent Oram was there in full voice along with Church wardens, Pam Carter and Janet Smith. The collection raised over 130 Euros for their four ‘Church Missions’ projects which include; DEBRA in Spain, for children suffering from skin diseases, Heshima in Tanzania, which provides Textile training for local Maasai ladies, Syrian Families in Need and Study Buddies in Thailand, which offers education to children.
