It was such a perfect day on Saturday December 1st at the Age Concern Christmas Fair at the Day Centre in La Siesta. Browsers and buyers thronged the Day Centre and grounds hunting down bargains, buying tickets for the big draw, tombola’s, raffle, cakes, clothes, handbags, mobility aids, books, bric-a-brac, jewellery and electrical items.
The area was bathed in sunshine and many relaxed and socialised whilst enjoying a nice cup of tea and mince pie or hot sausage roll. For most of the day the Phoenix Int’l Concert Band entertained playing an eclectic range of songs and Christmas carols.
The total of funds raised was 2677.41e. An amazing amount of money raised which will go towards maintaining all the help and care so vital for the over 50’s in the Southern Costa Blanca area. Last, but definitely not least, a huge thank you goes to all the valiant Age Concern volunteers who worked so hard together to organise this most successful event, they are the backbone of Age Concern.
So thank you to everyone who came along and spent their money so freely and to all the winners of the draws and raffles.
