A full house enjoyed a glass of wine, a huge raffle and music from the Torrevieja Pipes and Drum band for this last meeting of 2018. The Mayor had to join the meeting late after having been called to an unexpected meeting with the Presidente of Valencia but did manage to give the meeting an update on the long standing issue of La Siesta park.
It seems there is still no opening in sight as the mayor revealed previous suppliers were suing the council for non payment and until the court case was resolved nothing could happen. There was an update on the planned new contracts for waste services and the bus service with members invited to attend a council meeting.
Residents were told about the registration process for voting next year and advised to ensure they have residency and transfer of UK driving licences before brexit. The mayor, director of parks and local police will meet with NHW Chair Doug Allen and members to inspect the area this week to resolve residents issues and to identify what of the area improvement plan can be completed.
