Rojales Netball, together with their many friends and family, made the journey down to La Manga Club to support the Sport Pink weekend by taking part in a charity netball tournament.
They won their first three matches, which were played in the spirit of the day, as they took on teams of various ages that were put together for the event.
In the final they came across a team of 4 men and 3 ladies. The first half was like a game of rough and tumble, one big free for all, resulting in a half time score of 3-3.
In the second half Rojales were instructed by their coach to show the many spectators how the game of netball should be played and they rose to the challenge. Sam and Louise started to score the goals, Roni, Katie and Angela sured up the centre court and Claire and Luke had the defensive circle all sewn up. Laura and Karen, having played in the earlier games, were on standby for this one.
At the final whistle Rojales came out clear winners and for the second year running were crowned the champions.
As they collected their trophies and cava it was announced that the netball tournament had raised a sum of over 1000 euros in support of the breast cancer charity.
Its back to the training court now for Rojales as they prepare for the visit of the Mighty Madrid in November.
If you want to be part of the Club then come along on a Tuesday to the Norwegian School in Quesada from 7pm-8.30pm, or for further details Whatsapp Claire on 680300637.
